This day isn’t about one steep climb, but about the distance. The hills are low and rolling, but they just keep coming. You’ll be walking for a good 9 hours, so you have plenty of time to find your own rhythm. You also have plenty of time to notice where it starts to nag.
It’s a day of woodland, fields and small villages. Take more breaks than you think you need, because the second half asks the most of your feet. At the end you cross the old bridge and Ponte de Lima lies ahead of you by the river. Rucksack off, shoes off. The albergue is open to pilgrims.
