Mealhada leaves you with a path that hardly ever wants to go uphill. The highest point of the day is barely a hill, so the climbing is nothing to worry about. What counts is the distance: almost 7 hours on your feet.
It’s a day of villages, small roads and stretches alongside busier streets. Not spectacular, but nicely rhythmic. You put one foot in front of the other and the kilometres simply melt away. Towards the end you walk into Águeda, a town famous for the colourful umbrellas hanging above its streets. Pace yourself, take a proper break along the way and you’ll be fine.
