This is a day you’ll feel in your legs and have to win in your head. It’s about 40 kilometres over the passes of Erosa and Fumaces. You descend more than you climb overall, but your knees won’t really notice that until after several hours.
It’s quiet and empty out here. There are few facilities, so take enough water and food with you and set off early. Whatever you need, you carry yourself.
You’ll arrive in Verín tired but content. This is where the Caminho Português Interior joins your route, so from now on you’ll be walking with pilgrims from both directions. There is a public albergue. Have something good to eat, you’ve earned it.
