Today the Camino asks very little of you. The stage is light, and you’ll be walking for a little over five hours. There are a few hills, but overall you’re mostly heading downhill. That’s good for your lungs and not so good for your knees.
It’s a day for walking without thinking too much. You leave São João da Madeira, put the city behind you and head into the hills. You can feel the end of the route getting closer. Tomorrow you’ll be in Porto, and that changes the mood a little. You talk a bit more, or perhaps you stay quiet for a bit longer. Grijó appears without any fuss. You walk into the village, put down your rucksack and take off your shoes.
