This day is mostly about perseverance. You’ll be on your feet for almost 7 hours, and the path just keeps rolling up and down. The highest point isn’t all that high, but that’s no cause for celebration.
You climb well over 500 metres in total, in short stretches that add up. You’ll notice it mostly in the second half. There’s no respite on the descents either, as your knees have to work hard. Find a pace that suits you, eat something in good time and don’t keep checking the counter. Berán isn’t a village where you’ll want to wander around, but after this day you won’t need to. Boots off, feet up. Well done, pilgrim.
