Behind you lies the famous bridge at Puente la Reina, ahead of you the cool morning stretches out over the fields. The path winds past vines and cornfields, and almost every kilometre brings another hill.
It’s an average day, but the hills make it feel longer than it looks on the map. At Cirauqui you walk up into a village perched on a hilltop. After that comes old paving, which is best not taken too fast. You’ll be going up and down through Navarra for a good six hours. Estella lies on the river Ega and is a pleasant place to arrive. Take the hills one at a time and you’ll be in town sooner than you think.
