This day asks little of you. It’s flat and straightforward: you’ll be there in about five hours. The meseta slowly lets go of you. Much of the path runs alongside the road, and the landscape is less open than on the previous days. Not the prettiest kilometres of the Camino, but the easiest.
The last stretch takes you through suburbs, until the city suddenly turns old. León has a cathedral you can’t miss. Give it time.
León is also where the Camino del Salvador begins, the route to Oviedo. If you’re walking that, this is where you turn off. For everyone else: a short day means a long afternoon. Save your legs for the city this afternoon.
