Your legs almost walk themselves today, while your mind is already a step ahead. It’s an easy day with no real climbing: some rolling terrain, more downhill than uphill, woodland paths and small villages. You’ll be walking for a little over five hours, with plenty of coffee stops to keep it a relaxed stroll.

On this stage the Norte joins the Camino Francés. Same path, same albergues. So it will be a lot busier than you’re used to. Suddenly you’ll see clean boots and fresh rucksacks, and you’ll simply greet everyone. You’ll reach O Pedrouzo without any rush, with time for laundry, a terrace and a short chat about tomorrow. Then you walk into Santiago.

Enjoy these last quiet kilometres.

Tips for this stage

  • You'll be sharing the path with pilgrims from the Francés. Don't let them hurry you, and keep to your own pace.
  • There is more downhill than uphill. Take the descents gently, as it will spare your knees.
  • O Pedrouzo has a public albergue, which is handy if you'd rather not book ahead.
