This is the short lead-in to the Camino Inglés. It is for pilgrims who like to start with the sea at their back and don’t want to wait too long before walking. You start in the port city of A Coruña and walk to Bruma in one big day.
The start is steep. As soon as the city is behind you, you climb about 380 metres shortly after setting off. After that it gets easier. The road rises and falls through the Galician interior, past small villages, meadows and woodland. In Bruma you join the route from Ferrol. From there you continue to Santiago in two days.
Be careful if you want a Compostela. The total distance from A Coruña is shorter than what is usually required for one. So ask at the pilgrim office in Santiago beforehand about the current requirements, or start in Ferrol.
The best time to walk it is from June to September. From November to January and in March it is cool and often rainy. That makes such a long day harder than it already is.
