This day tests both your legs and your head. It’s long and there’s a lot of climbing, so you need to get your pace right. Don’t rush out of the city, because you’ll still need your strength later.
The steepest climb is like a bill you have to pay: nearly 400 metres up within five kilometres. After that, the route keeps going up and down. That calls for patience. Taking it one step at a time works best.
In Bruma you join the Camino Inglés from Ferrol. This is where the routes meet, and from here you walk on to Santiago together. There is a public albergue. Eat well, stretch your calves and give the rest of you a break.
