You leave the last houses of Soutelo de Montes behind you and the path leads you into the hills. There isn’t much climbing today. The day mostly slopes downhill, almost 600 metres in total. That’s good for your lungs, less so for your knees.
The pace is relaxed. Paths, roads and small villages follow one another, and not much is asked of you. With around six hours of walking, there’s plenty of time for a long coffee stop. Codeseda arrives without a grand finale, just a Galician village where you can take your rucksack off. On the last stretch you walk between woods and meadows, with the light low and soft among the trees.
