You’re standing in front of the cathedral, rucksack still on, and it doesn’t feel real. All those days of walking, and then the road simply stops. Sit down for a moment, do nothing for a while.
Looking back, this was a gentle final day. Around 17 kilometres across rolling Galician countryside, with over 450 metres of climbing that you’ll hardly notice after all these days. The closer you get to the city, the busier the path becomes. More rucksacks, more Buen Camino. Staying in Santiago between May and September? Book ahead, even if you’ve always slept without a reservation so far. Enjoy every step, even the last one.
