This stage is mostly about perseverance. You’ll be on the move for well over 9 hours, so it’s going to be a long day for your legs. The highest point is nothing special, but the path just keeps going up and down. These are short hills that add up to almost 600 metres of climbing, and every one of them asks something of you.
You leave Tomar, the city of the Templars, with the morning still ahead of you. After that it gets quieter: woodland, fields, small villages. Take breaks without rushing and eat before you get hungry. You’ll reach Alvaiázere with tired calves and a contented feeling. A shower and a chair taste extra good then.
Stick to your own pace, the Camino really isn’t going anywhere.
