Your legs will hardly notice today, but your mind will. It’s an easy stage of just over four hours. The hills roll up and down, but nowhere do they really bite. Handy if the previous days are still in your calves.
For the most part you walk along the coast, over sand and between low scrub. The Atlantic Ocean is always within earshot. It’s mainly the wind that decides how the day feels, because on the open stretches there’s little to shelter you. You have plenty of time to stop and take it all in, as nobody is rushing you.
Towards the end you leave the coast behind and walk into the village. In Vila do Bispo the streets are quiet. Boots off, a café terrace, and a chance to watch the village spend its afternoon.
