Fields and vineyards, mile after mile. The countryside around Los Arcos is open, with lots of sky and little shade. The path rises and falls gently all the way, never really steep. But those hills do add up in your legs.
After Viana you leave Navarra and walk into La Rioja. You’ll notice it from the vines. The last kilometres take you through the outskirts to Logroño, a busy city with plenty of terraces. Pilgrims on the Camino del Ebro join the route here, so you’ll see some new faces. Nearly 28 kilometres is a long way. Break up the day with a long pause, because you’ll be on the road for about 8 hours.
