You leave O Pedrouzo behind you and the path soon heads into the woods, among the eucalyptus trees. From here you walk alongside the pilgrims of the Camino Francés: the same route, the same albergues. After weeks on the Norte, it suddenly feels busy.
It’s an easy day, with some gentle undulations and a few short climbs. You walk into Santiago via Monte do Gozo, first through the suburbs, then through the old streets to the cathedral. Take your time over those last few metres. Sort out your bed in advance, too. From May to September a bed in Santiago can be hard to find, so book ahead, even if you never booked along the way.
