You leave Grado behind you, and the houses soon give way to greenery. It’s only day two, but the Primitivo is already easing off on nothing. The path keeps seeking out the heights, dropping away and climbing again.
There’s no real summit on this stage. Even so, the little climbs add up to almost 700 metres of ascent, and you’ll feel it in your legs. Including breaks, you’ll be on the go for around 7 hours. It’s a middling day that mostly calls for a steady pace. Salas has a public albergue, which makes it easy to end your day there, so pace your energy and walk to it at your own speed.
