This day is tough on your knees. You spend a long time going downhill, far more than you climb, and you only really feel it after a few hours. Descending well over 1,200 metres is no small thing.
From Berducedo you head down towards the Salime reservoir. The view over the water makes up for a lot. Then the Primitivo asks one more thing of you: a steep climb, 360 metres up within 5 kilometres, just when your legs are already tired. Take your time and find your own rhythm. That way you will reach Grandas de Salime, where you can let your rucksack slip from your shoulders with a sigh of relief.
Take it easy, the mountains aren’t going anywhere.
