The path winds out of Sangüesa between wheat fields and dry hills. The land is open, so you can see from far off what still lies ahead. It’s about 27 kilometres, and you’ll feel every one of them. Climbs and descents follow one another constantly, with no long flat stretch to catch your breath.
Your legs will get heavy, especially in the second half. You’ll be on the road for around 8 hours, so you’ll be walking through the hottest part of the day too. Eat on time and take a break before you get tired. Monreal is a peaceful village where you can take off your boots with a real sense of satisfaction. Walk at your own pace and you’ll get there.
