Today you take the boat. You board in Vilanova de Arousa and step off again in Padrón. It’s almost 24 kilometres over the water, in just over an hour. According to legend, the apostle James also came to Galicia by boat.
The boat doesn’t sail every day, and the departure time depends on the tide. Check beforehand whether there is a sailing and book a seat. If that doesn’t work out, take the bus or a taxi to Pontecesures or Padrón. Padrón has a public pilgrim albergue.
