Luz comes into view as a row of white houses along the bay, and you realise you still feel fresh. That’s what this stage is like: a little over three hours of walking, with no great effort.
From Salema you follow the cliff edge. Short climbs and descents keep alternating, but it never gets hard. The highest point stays low. Along the way you pass through Burgau, a village where it’s easy to end up having a second coffee. The path is open, so you’ll have plenty of sun and wind. With the sea at your side, the walking almost takes care of itself.
In Luz the beach is just around the corner. Shoes off, feet in the water. Take your time over it, because the last stage isn’t going anywhere.
