Eucalyptus and pines, low stone walls, small hamlets with a cross by the roadside. That’s what much of this day looks like. You’ll soon leave O Porriño behind, and then it gets greener and quieter.
It’s a friendly stage of a little over four hours’ walking. You climb over a ridge, but nothing that will really test your knees or your mood. You do descend a bit more than you climb, so you’ll feel the way down to Redondela in your thighs. Near the end, the tall railway viaducts rise above the houses, and then you know you’re almost there. There’s no need to rush, because the day is short. Redondela has a public albergue, handy if you haven’t arranged anything yet.
