You arrive in Olagüe with heavy legs and a contented mind. It was a long, hard day, and you only really feel it once you stop. The day revolves around one thing: the climb. More than 500 metres up within five kilometres, steep and with few detours.
You know it’s coming, but it still catches you out. Start gently, eat along the way and take your time. At the top you’re rewarded with space and views. After that the route drops away again, and the descent asks a lot of your knees. When you look back, you see the green hills of Navarra falling away behind you, one ridge after another, until they fade into the distance.
