It smells of eucalyptus as you leave O Pedrouzo. The forest path is still damp from the night. The final stage is an easy one: no steep climb, no tricky decisions. It’s a little over five hours of walking, so you have plenty of time. You’ll mostly be walking with your head, because every kilometre is one less to go.
After Monte do Gozo it becomes more urban: roads, roundabouts, suburbs. It’s not as pretty as you’d hoped, but you’ll still walk it with a smile. Then come the narrow streets of the old town and suddenly you’re standing on the Praza do Obradoiro. The cathedral towers above you. Sit or lie down on the stones, look up and let it sink in. You’ve made it.
