Today is more about your head than your legs. The path is flat or gently downhill, and the kilometres roll away beneath your feet. But they keep on coming. After a few hours, what you notice most is your feet, and the monotony.
You walk through open country with vineyards and fields beneath a wide sky. There’s no real climbing to do. The challenge is the distance: almost 7 hours on the road. Find your rhythm, let your thoughts wander and take a short break now and then. After that, it comes naturally.
Towards the end, Torremejía appears, a quiet village. Rucksack off, shoes off and a cool drink in your hand. That’s your reward for a whole day of walking straight ahead.
