This day is about distance, not climbing. At around 27 kilometres, you’ll be on your feet for a good seven hours. You descend more than you climb, and the highest point is nothing much. Even so, you’ll feel it in your feet and knees by the end.
The landscape is open, with plenty of sky and little shade. Take your time over a long break halfway. The kilometres will come by themselves if you build them up steadily.
You arrive in Ruesta, a village that is largely abandoned. You’ll see old stone houses and feel a stillness that you didn’t have on the previous days. Rucksack off, shoes off, and a moment of doing nothing.
