This is a day for simply walking. From Caldas de Reis you follow quiet paths through woodland and past small villages. The route rises and falls gently, but nowhere is it really steep. Your legs get a bit of a rest, and so does your head.
Padrón is an old town with a big story. According to legend, this is where the boat carrying the body of the apostle James came ashore. So you are walking into the place where the story of Santiago begins. There is a public pilgrim albergue. Take your time over a drink on a terrace, because tomorrow is the final stage. Keep the pace easy, you are almost there.
